Sorry, it's been a while...
The concert at Suburban Baptist was a huge success. Thanks to my fans that made it out, and the wonderful congregation there. If you weren't able to make it, all I can say is , you missed it. To kind of set up the story..... a number of the members at Suburban, I attended church with years ago , including my old (sorry Dawn) choir director Dawn. She informed me before the show, that she would be doing my intro. and got a few details from me. ~~~~ She reads the intro , and as I start up the stairs to the platform, she asks, " Did I get it right ? " I assured her, yes. She then asked me to have a seat, that she had something else to add. May I add that, before that point I was feeling pretty good about going on , my nerves hadn't quite gotten the best of me. She then proceeded in telling a story about a solo I had back in 1986 in her children's choir. This was pretty fitting considering many of the other kids in the story were now adult members or kin to members at Suburban. Then it happened, the lights dimmed, and on the big screen above the stage, the video tape from that very story played for all to see. At the conclusion of the video footage, I told the audience, " Okay, time to redeem myself." And the concert began. I can't claim credit for how the show went, but God did an awesome job through me. I kind of strayed from my notes and went a little further into my testimony than I had planned, but all went well. Thanks again Suburban Baptist, the experience was truely a blessing .
Finally a little progress on the Good Samaritan House benefit, it will be held on December 10th at the Knights of Columbus hall in Granite City. Melanie Hyatt and Jackie Lawson tentatively agreed to help me put on the show . Pray they are still available, they are both great performers.
This Friday night (Sept. 23d) , I'll be doing a 2 hour show at Eckert's in Milstadt, IL . Showtime 7 till 9. I'm really looking forward to it. Hope to see you there. If you're interested, and need directions, go to my contact page and let us know.
It's my bedtime everyone, I hope all is well with you .
God Bless Chris
