A nice breather....
There was about a two week span I didn't have a whole lot on the schedule... I usually like it really busy, but the break was nice. I was so bummed out over the first Eckert's show getting cancelled Friday night. I did a lot of relaxing over my break, but I rehearsed that show a couple of times last week and was pretty psyched about kicking off my busy fall schedule. Sorry to those who had planned on coming out. God sent the rain , and oh did it rain. And then came the chocolate , I mean the party. A select few were invited to a private CD release party my Aunt Pat threw for me last night in Eureka. Thanks so much to Aunt Pat, Kelly and Matt, Stacy, and all involved in making the night happen. I'll admit , I had reservations at first just about the whole idea, but I'm so glad it happened. About the chocolate ...HUAHHH !!! Sorry, I couldn't help myself .
I've got enough I brought home , to last me a while . Aunt Pat is awesome with sweets, and spent what had to have been hours preparing the food. If ya don't know by now, I love music, but food is a close second... chocolate topping that list. The cake had a picture of the CD cover printed on it, with a chocolate tree.. protruding from it were edible stars with song titles from the CD printed on each. There was a counter display of grand pianos, guitars, cowboy boots and hats, all very detailed and totally made of chocolate. Stay with me now, there's more... cookies and chocolate suckers with pictures from the CD photo shoot. Did I mention the chocolate fondue fountain ? There was collage of pictures and media articles from over the years that captured many of the highlights of my performance journey and some of the most candid moments too . It was just so much more than I expected. Singin' for everyone there was a blast, my sis Breezy did great , sitting in for a few songs. Thanks for all who came and shared the moment, and for the kind words about ' Pain. As fun as last night was, the weekend continues. I went to worship this morning, and I'll be heading out shortly to the Blues game. Darn the luck, I have to sit in a luxury suite with an all you can eat buffet. Thank you Tammy !!!! I'm so excited about next weekend, two local shows to do. I hope to see ya there. God Bless Chris
