Hello friends....

It's been a long time since I've touched base with you guys on here. Sorry It's still very busy at home and on the road the last couple of weeks.
... Branson was great as always . Win or lose, the Spotlight show is a great experience, but we were very grateful to win, and will return for the semi finals for Branson Spotlight in August. It was great seeing Ron and Cindy and meeting many new faces. Thanks to all of you who sent congrats on the win. As if that 4 day off from work weekend wasn't going great enough with the Branson win, we saw a beautiful rainbow on the return trip home. I think it was the coolest I've ever seen... very deep brilliant colors and twice as wide as your typical rainbow. My girlfriend Tammy gets giddy when she sees a rainbow. In case you didn't know, rainbows are a direct sign from God, a reminder that never again will he destroy the earth by water. After a good nights rest it was off to the ICMA People's Choice Awards.
...It was an honor to be up for so many awards, let alone win two of them . The Songwriter of The Year - Gospel was so cool to win . Thanks to God , my creator, provider, enabler and Savior for the answer to prayer in giving me not only the ability to write , but to write something that can really connect and impact. And thanks to all of you loyal friends/fans for coming out to the shows in big numbers and with the best support I could ask for. I was truely grateful for the New Male Vocalist nod as well. Thanks to God, Tammy, my family , and all of you for making it happen. I didn't deserve such a great weekend , I'm just still kind of in shock over the whole trip.
... And last but not least, the 4th of July celebration in Granite City Il. It was so much an honor to be asked to perform for my hometown , to a crowd that I heard was estimated between 25 and 30,000 people. It was a one song appearance, in a cool variety show produced by the Patriots in the Park. I was asked to do a patriotic song for obvious reasons, and initially had issues deciding what to perform, God gave me the perfect song though. For those of you that missed out on the performance, I did "In God We Still Trust" . Initially a song I wrote for th 911 tradgedy in 2001, I did a rewrite some time ago to apply to the ongoing war in Iraq. It was a rush to sing for a hometown crowd . God answered my prayer and the performance went well . Thanks to those of you that I got to chat with at the show, for coming out and for the kind words.
Well now that Ive talked your ear off , or eyes in this case, I'm gonna go. I am so excited to be back at New Salem this Saturday night. I look forward to seeing ya .
God Bless Chris
