The calm after the storm...

Hi all! Thanks for stopping by my site. If you hadn't heard yet... the Maryville Illinois church that's been in the news the past couple of weeks where the pastor was gunned down during the service on March 8th, was our church . My girlfriend Tammy and I are members there. Needless to say it's been a rough road, but God has been extremely gracious in helping us through. I am grateful that Tammy and I did not see this happen. We attend the 2nd service and the tradgedy took place in the first service. We were in the parking lot getting ready to enter when things unfolded.
To all you who've prayed for us and our church family at First Baptist Church of Maryville , we sincerely thank you. God is hearing and answering everyones' prayers in amazing ways. Please continue to pray , specifically for Pastor Fred's wife Cindy and their two daughters . Also please ask God to send the pastor of His choice to us . God has always been, is, and always will be on His throne. He was there as this horrible thing happened. I've heard some say where was your God when this happened ? And why couldn't he stop the gunman ? God was still on His throne that fateful moment. And definitely could have stopped this from happening . He chose not to, for reasons beyond me. God's word says " Trust in the Lord with all your heart , and lean not on your own understanding."
